Interested in joining Delta Omicron?
Members of Delta Omicron are undergraduates and graduates from all majors within Virginia Tech. All that we ask is that you have a love for music and a commitment to excellence. At the beginning of each semester, Gamma Mu holds an informational meeting for prospective members. This is a chance for you to get to meet the members and find out what Delta Omicron is about.
The rest of the prospective membership process lasts about 4-6 weeks. During this time, prospective members (PMs) learn about Delta Omicron traditions and history and get to know members through informal interviews. Each PM will receive a PM book containing information about Delta Omicron. The PM master/mistress (1st Vice President) is responsible for making sure that all PMs learn everything within their PM book. Below is a summary on how someone becomes a member of Delta Omicron:
* Attend an informational meeting at the beginning of the semester (usually the second week of school)
* Engage in the PM process for 4-6 weeks during which you will be required to:
* Attend a weekly PM meeting
* Conduct a PM project with your PM class
* Carry a PM book at all times
* Wear a PM badge and/or PM pin at all times
* Conduct an interview with each member of Gamma Mu
* Learn Delta Omicron traditions and history
Going through the prospective membership process is a fun experience that all members enjoy. Each PM picks a big brother or sister that helps guide you through the PM process. Many close friendships are made among PM classes, as you will be working together on a project and attending meetings together.
