Social Activities
Delta Omicron takes great pride in its schedule of semester and annual events ranging from serious or ceremonial to social. With these events prospective members as well as members have an opportunity to become better acquainted with one another. Here is an outline of the major social events that Delta Omicron traditionally renders.
Once a semester, a Lock-in is held usually (but not always) at the home of one of the members. The main focus of this Lock-in is for members to get to know the new prospective member class. With games, interviews, movie viewing, and plenty of laughs and excitement, a feeling of camaraderie and brotherhood is felt throughout the evening and early morning hours.
There are several DO parties throughout the semester that basically share the same format of the Lock-in and members as well as prospective members take delight in the many talents, both musical and non-musical, that tie the group together.
At the end of the Fall Semester, we have a Christmas dinner at The Homeplace (a homestyle restaurant in Salem, VA). Here members gather for dinner and the exchanging of small Christmas gifts.
At the end of the Spring semester DO sponsors a cookout at one of the local playgrounds. Playing games and the appointing of DO superlatives are done during this time.
Delta Omicron is more than just a group of young adults gathering together for parties and social events. We grow very close with one another and stand by one another during times of good and bad fortune. We support each other musically as well as emotionally. We look out for one another and share a bond that time and death can never break.
